Merging Assets
Merging Assets is most commonly used when two or more assets are combined, such as a laptop that receives additional memory. There is no limit to merging assets, but it is only possible after all relevant Assets have been taken out of service. This section specifically covers TSG Fixed Assets Merging. To learn about the general Intacct product feature of merging, see the help center within the specific product.
Steps to Merge Assets:
Take existing Assets Out of Service. Once the assets are taken out of service, they automatically move to the CIP Item section (Fixed Assets > CIP > CIP Item).
Navigate to Fixed Assets > CIP Asset
Create a new CIP Asset and select all the Assets – which are now CIP Items – that are to be merged. You can also change an Asset Class here, in what is known as Capitalization of Asset.
“Merge Assets” is a process rather than a single operation. Here is the workflow: Assets > Put on Hold > Take Out of Service > CIP Item > CIP Asset.
