Custom Fields
Custom Fields is an additional feature provided by Fixed Assets, where if your organization has some specific data to be added along with the Assets, then that can be done with the help of custom fields. You can add custom fields in Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable bills, and/or purchasing. The most common custom fields added are State, Country, physical location, etc. Skip this step if there are no custom fields to be utilized in your Intacct Instance for Fixed Assets.
An implementer can add Custom Fields only to the Fixed Assets module. Adding Custom Fields to Accounts Payable (AP) and/or Purchasing Order (PO) can only be done by TSG Engineering. If a Partner is implementing, this requires an SOW back to Intacct for the Custom Fields on AP and PO.
Follow these steps only if custom fields must be added to the FA module.
For example, the custom field “Physical Location” must be added to Fixed Assets
Navigate to Fixed Assets > Assets > Object Definition > Fields. Click on New Field.
Depending on the type of the field to be created, the corresponding data type should be selected. In most cases, select Text and click on Next.
Type in the Field Name as “Physical Location” and Length as “100.” Click on Save.
Adding Custom Fields to FA, AP, and PO
If you wish to add any custom fields to AP and/or PO alongside Fixed Assets, then please open a case with the Provisioning team in order to add custom fields. Caution: Extra hours may apply.
