Custom Dimension names

TSG Fixed Assets allows you to modify the names of the dimensions used in your organization (Class, Department, Location, etc.). If your organization uses different names for any of the Intacct dimensions, then those names have to be referenced and modified in Fixed Assets as well. Now, you no longer need to remember that the “Class” dimension is referred to as 'XYZ' in your organization. Simply rename it to 'XYZ,' and the Fixed Assets module will handle everything for you!

TSG Fixed Assets also allows you to create a list of specific values for Asset Names which are accessed in your organization for ease of use and simplicity. Thus, if your organization has a specific list of Assets that are always used, then you no longer have to type it every time you create or generate an Asset. You simply need to select it from a drop-down menu; this can be helpful when you are dealing with a large number of Assets.​

1. Navigate to Company > Setup > Terminology and make sure that the Singular Name matches the Term Name. The Term Names that do not match need to be added in the Fixed Assets Module.

   Note: Field Names on the Asset Object need to be updated with the Singular Name mentioned on the Terminology page. 

2. To modify the Field Names, proceed to Fixed Assets > Assets > Object Definition (Object Definition will be found in the top corner of the page). This should also be listed in the config sheet.

3. Click on Fields found on the top left corner of the page.

4. Click on Edit beside the Field Name which are to be replaced by the Singular Name.  ​

5. Change the Field Label to the Singular Name and hit Save.

6. For example, to rename the “Class” dimension within the Asset object, follow these steps:

   1. Navigate to Fixed Assets > Assets > Object Definition > Fields.

   2. Search for the field labeled “Class.”

   3. Click on Edit for that particular field and change the Field Label Name to “XYZ,” or as it is referred to within your organization, and click Save.

   4. To avoid any issues when dimensions are cloned, please check the “Do not clone this field when record is cloned” for all dimensions that are going to be utilized by the Fixed Assets module (Location, Department, etc.).

      *Please DO NOT change the Integration Name under any circumstances!
