Setting up Different Dimensions per GL Account Type

You may need to split your dimensions based on your account type. Intacct’s Lease Accounting allows you to use different dimensions or allocations to add to your Income Statement or Balance Sheet. This way, if your transaction line is against a balance sheet or income statement account, it will reflect your defined combination of dimensions.

If you wish to have different dimensions per GL Account Type:

  1. Go to Lease Accounting > + Lease Group

  2. Enter a name for your Lease Group in the Lease Group field.

  3. Enter a description of the Lease Group in the Description field.

  4. Next, enter the appropriate fields for your Income Statement Accounts in the top box.

  5. In the Balance Sheet Accounts section, select the box that says “Use Different Dimensions/Allocations for Balance Sheet Accounts.”

  6. Enter the appropriate fields for your Balance Sheet Accounts.

  7. Save.

Note: The Balance Sheet Account Location and Income Statement Account entity must be the same.
