Setup Payment Method Link

When using Unipay, there may be a need for a customer to setup their payment method or mandate prior to invoicing. Because its before invoicing, autopay and the pay now link are not available. This is where the Setup Payment Method Link comes in. This link gives a user within Intacct the ability to share a link with the end customer that takes them to the setup payment method or mandate screen. Additionally, if a user does not want to share but would rather setup a payment method with or on behalf of the customer, there is a continue button which allows a user to go through the setup payment method or mandate process. To access this link, a user would navigate to Accounts Receivable>Customers>View Customer>scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Online Payments Customer Prefs object> and to the far right of the record is Setup Payment Method link. When a user clicks the link, a new window will pop up with the option to share or continued with setup. Figure 1 to the right shows the link located in the customer record, and figure 2 shows the screen that populates.

Pay Now Link on Invoice UI

Aside from the Pay Now link on the Invoice PDF, and the Autopay process, there is a Pay Now Link on the Invoice within the Sage Intacct UI. To view this link, navigate to Accounts Receivable>Invoices>View an invoice, and you will see a Pay Now link located on the invoice header. An example of that link is in Figure 3. The Pay Now Link in the Sage Intacct UI works the same as the Pay Now link that can be added to an Invoice PDF. Below are the different behaviours depending on the Payment Provider:

  • GoCardless - if a user or customer hits Pay Now on the Invoice PDF or Invoice URL Link, the customer is taken to a GoCardless-hosted page to create their mandate. If a mandate exists, the application will submit the payment request for the invoice, and GoCardless will begin processing the payment.

  • Stripe - if a user or customer hits Pay Now on the Invoice PDF or Invoice URL Link, the customer is taken to a Stripe-hosted page where they can select the payment method or create a new one. Additionally, a user can select the invoice or invoices they wish to pay.
